The global wire and cable industry gathered once again in Shanghai from September 21st to 24th, for Wire China 2026, one of the sector's most influential exhibitions. As the 12th edition of this flagship event, the exhibition brought together manufacturers, technology providers, industry experts, and decision-makers from across the wire and cable industry.
Spanning more than 80,000 square metres of exhibition space, Wire China welcomed over 1,100 exhibitors from 28 countries and attracted more than 40,000 professional visitors. The exhibition showcased the latest developments in cable manufacturing, processing technologies, materials, testing equipment, and quality control solutions, while a comprehensive programme of technical forums explored the future direction of the industry.
Among the key themes discussed throughout the event were digitalised manufacturing, advanced cable materials, sustainable production practices, and the growing demand for high-performance technologies supporting next-generation infrastructure.

One area attracting significant attention was the continued expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure. While much of the conversation surrounding AI focuses on optical fibre networks, high-speed copper interconnect cables remain a critical component of modern data centres and AI computing systems.
Duplex, or Twinax, cables play an essential role in connecting servers, switches, storage systems, and high-performance computing equipment. As transmission speeds increase and system architectures become more demanding, manufacturers face growing pressure to ensure consistent quality and precise dimensional control throughout the production process.
